Description:JOB SUMMARY: This individual is responsible for providing vision care, interacting with patients and preparing them for their time with the doctor. As an ophthalmic assistant, you will provide chair-side doctor assistance, perform diagnostic tests as required by ophthalmologist, and administer treatment when necessary.COMPETENCIES:Communication and Patient Care-- Provide exceptional vision care to enhance the patient experience.-- Greet patients and set expectations for their exam.-- Gather patient medical history and complaints.-- Monitor patient flow, ensuring the physician exam rooms are always full and patients are moving through the patient experience.-- Acts as scribe for physician.-- Escorts patients to front desk after exam.Patient Education-- Reviews physician-generated instructions with patient.-- Provides appropriate patient education materials as directed by physician.Administrative-- Ensures that exam rooms are tidied and sanitized between patients, including cleaning sinks and sanitizing equipment.-- Clean all lenses used by doctors.-- Prepares for COA exam.-- And all other duties as assigned.Requirements:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:High school diploma or equivalent.Two years' experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required.ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Positive team member.Care and concern for othersStrong organization with attention to detail.Demonstrated computer literacy.PIf806e7e4a4de-25660-36110540
