Job Description:
A company is looking for an Outpatient/Provider Coder Level
2.
Key Responsibilities
Review charges and report on documentation issues by contacting
appropriate personnel
Abstract, code, and assign appropriate coding classifications for
multiple/sub specialty services
Mentor and assist in training Level 1 Coders while providing
feedback on coding-related issues
Required Qualifications
Nationally recognized coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS) or 3
years of coding experience
Minimum of 2 years of coding, clinical, or billing experience
required
Basic knowledge of clinical documentation requirements and health
insurance processing
Proficiency with computer software such as Microsoft Word and
Excel
Ability to obtain a recognized coding certification within 6 months
if qualifying under equivalency without certification
