Essential Job Responsibilities/ExpectationsJob responsibilities include those listed in competencies documentMaintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core ValuesThe Sonographer greets and confirms patients, assists patient with appropriate attire for procedure, explains procedures, length and expectations along with desired results; properly positions patient for procedure and informs patient of what they may expect during actual imaging; selects and utilizes appropriate technical factors for procedure, based on body habits, pathology and body parts; processes completed images making sure they are of interpretable quality; continues to develop professionalism through continuing education programs and in-services; complies with all policies of the system with the intention of delivering the highest quality of service.Primary Responsibilities include performance of the following procedures: Adult Echocardiography, Stress/Echo tests. Additional responsibilities include maintaining work logs, working closely with physicians to ensure protocols are established and met, and providing preliminary reports.Job RequirementsQualifications/TrainingGraduate of an accredited program for training for Echocardiogram Technology and licensure as required by the State of South Carolina and other applicable credentialing and licensing authorities.Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/EducationRDCS requiredBasic Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of hire.Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses.
