Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15) Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required License: NC or Compact license pending okay for submission. Required in hand at time of start. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Minimum of 2 years experience on a cardiac floor - Skills in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown - Experience with sheath removal, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Management of post-MI and pre/post-cardiac cath patients - Ability to manage cardiac drips, including titration - Proficient in managing chest tubes, external CPAP/BIPAP, nasal cannula, and non-invasive airway management Job Description: - Handle patient diagnoses including Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, and various cardiac and vascular conditions - Conduct special procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, and other vascular surgeries - Utilize special equipment like arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG - Work under self-scheduling within provided guidelines - Understand ratios vary per acuity: 1:4 for surgical step down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity - Float within hospital units as required - Participate in weekend and holiday requirements - Work during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters as needed - Complete initial unit orientation of 24 hours and pass mandatory EKG testing before start - Wear navy scrubs Preferred Experience: - Arterial line management - Wound care and wound vac - Charge experience This job does not allow time off after booking, and additional time off on the unit may lead to cancellation. Candidates must be comfortable with the outlined job description and demonstrate flexibility in unit assignments and patient acuity levels.
