• Certification Details
• Certs: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS.
• Preferred skills/certs/exp: Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and Charge Experience.
  • Job Details
  • RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
  • Patient Diagnoses include Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.
  • Special Procedures / Unit Details include CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.
  • Special Equipment includes Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.
  • Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication) include Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR.
  • Scheduling Type is Self.
  • Unit Orientation is 24 hours.
  • Scrubs are Navy.
    • Job Requirements
    • Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required. May screen if 1.5 year of CVICU experience in a large facility.
    • Traveler Experience Required UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience.
    • Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes.
    • Skills required include Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management.
      • Schedule Information
      • Shift: NIGHTS 36 HOURS ONLY. Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to a specified date to get the unit through the holidays.
      • Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation - not first to float.
      • Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible).
      • Ratios: Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity.

        • Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.
        • Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid-contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
