This position is heavily involved in the strategic planning, direction, and conduct of the UNCW intercollegiate athletics program, providing leadership and guidance in policy development, employee and student-athlete development, and compliance management.Location of Workplace: Main UNCW CampusBrief Summary of Work for this Position:The Deputy Director of Athletics/Chief Operating Officer (COO) serves the under the direct leadership of the Director of Athletics. This position is responsible for strategic planning and management of the athletics program, compliance, and fostering a supportive organizational culture.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of related experience within a Division I athletic department or comparable experience, including in-depth knowledge of NCAA, CAA rules and regulations, and Title IX/Gender Equity.
• Proven leadership and supervisory capacity with the ability to support strategic direction and planning processes.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, computer skills, and relationship management ability.
